Open to all businesses of any part of the food and drink supply chain, this award is for the Highlands and Islands based business or organisation, which through its use of Highlands and Islands produce, has demonstrably enhanced the organisation’s profile through the development of the local food and drink market. This could be either as a new organisation or a specific development of an existing one, since 1st January 2009.

What Judges will be looking for:

Organisations demonstrating a strong commitment to the use of local produce and deriving clear benefits from this. The business or service development process will also be assessed for innovation, meeting market need, staff training, enhancing the food and drink profile of the Highlands and Islands, ongoing business or service potential and overall identity in relation to the local food economy.

Documentation required:

• Describe your business together with your rationale and benefits derived from using local produce (one side of A4 maximum).
• Evidence of use of local produce (e.g. menus, photos, suppliers, marketing materials, etc) and evidence of customer's satisfaction or repeat business (e.g. sales figures, visitor numbers, customer feedback, awards etc). 3 pages of A4 maximum.
• A maximum of 4 pages of A4 may be submitted as supporting documentation.
